Easter Weekend 2012

We started off our Easter weekend with a quick trip to Massachusetts on Friday.  Joe's mothers side of the family is from there and his Grandfather has had some health issues lately.  He has never met the kids (or me) before so we made the trip to see him.  This was also the first overnight trip without pack 'n plays since they're now crawling out of them.  My good friend (also mom of triplets) let us borrow their twin air mattresses to take with us.  The kids actually did really well with the exception of Brayden waking up at 2:30 blabbing about everything going on in the world to me!  It took a while for me to get him back down and by the time I did Gavin was up so Joe took him in bed with him.  All in all I was impressed that they even fell asleep on them to begin with!
We spent a lot of time at Joe's Aunt and Uncle's house, who have three boys themselves, and understand our chaos!   They're big time ice hockey players so they got our trio a mini hockey net and stick set!

Future Goalie?

Look at that posture...future field hockey player?
After we visited Joe's Grandfather on Saturday we went to a farm/tack shop where they had baby bunnies and chickens.  The people were so friendly there, they even let us take pictures with the kids in cowboy hats!

We drove back to NY on Saturday night so we could be back by Easter.  Easter morning started off with an egg hunt out back.  Gavin was still exhausted from the day before so he wasn't too enthusiastic about looking for eggs.  Ava was hilarious though! She got so excited when she would find one and by the end her basket was so full that every time she bent over to get another egg the others would fall out!  Brayden was happy as long as he had an egg in each hand but he didn't like to put them in the basket.
Look what the Easter bunny left!

So exciting!

I'll stick to just holding the eggs in my hands!

Look what I found!

Now I get to indulge in the good stuff!

Where do I start...
We headed over to Nanna's house for a ham and mac 'n cheese dinner.  The kids were surprised with a few more goodies...

And to finish off the night, the kids indulged in some treats sent from Meme and Poppy including cotton candy!
How do I get this stuff off?

Yes, those cheeks are filled with cotton candy!

Why can't it be Easter more often!?
Even Joe enjoyed some...
It was such a nice weekend visiting with family near and far.  Thanks for the hospitality Uncle Steven, Aunt Karyn and family!
