Daddy Time!

The kids (and I) have been thoroughly enjoying Joe being home. The weather has been gorgeous so we've been spending a lot of time doing things outside. While Joe was gone there were specific things that the kids said they wanted to do when "Daddy got home". So we've been crossing some of those things off the list. First thing was to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast!

Getting Dunkin' Doughnuts was another hot topic for when Daddy got home and they just HAD to go get the doughnuts in Daddy's Jeep!

 

They have been wanting to fly kites the entire time Joe was gone so we finally had the opportunity on Saturday with some great wind.  So we loaded up and headed to the soccer complex! Of course Gavin decided to "dissect" his kite and pull off the tails.  Joe had to be creative in order to get it to fly, but it finally worked!

 The dogs have thoroughly enjoyed having Daddy home too!!

Sunday was another beautiful day and perfect to head to the Aloha Zoo.  It's a small local zoo that rescues animals but it had some great things there.  We'll definitely be visiting there often.  We even packed a lunch and had a picnic while there!

We're having so much fun with Daddy home and have been blessed with gorgeous weather to enjoy a lot of outdoor activities.  We have another busy weekend full of Spring Flings at school, Joe's Brigade Easter Egg Hunt and finally getting to go to our amazing church again on Sunday!!

Southern Snow

Okay, so I thought by moving away from New York down south to North Carolina, we would be moving away from these brutal winters.  Apparently the weather follows us because the past two weeks here in NC have been full of that fluffy white stuff that I'm NOT a fan of!  The kids enjoyed playing in it today though with our amazing neighbors that took them outside while I stayed indoors in the warmth!

Yes the kids are wearing plastic bags on their shoes and rain jackets over their regular coats since I didn't bother keeping any of their NY winter gear when we moved...thinking we wouldn't need it down South!!!

I'm Back!!!

Sorry for the long hiatus from the blog...unfortunately, our computer contracted a lovely virus and was just recently fixed!  So I'm back and have lots of random pictures to share:

Joe's family visited us in January and we celebrated Christmas with them.  The kids of course got some great gifts from Nana, Papa, Aunt KK, Aunt Jen and Uncle Tommy

There's a cute Children's Museum just down the street from us that is great to take the kids to on those rainy cold days!

The weather has been all over the place lately from 65 degrees one day to snowing the next so we've been doing a lot of hanging out at the house

Hopefully the weather will be breaking soon and we can spend some more time outside playing on the swing set and bounce house.  We've got a full month in February with Birthday parties, visits from family and friends and a weekend in Virginia Beach!
