The Three Little Pigs

I know one day Gavin, Ava and Brayden will hate us for the cheesy costumes we've put them in so far but I figure we have to do it now while we can get away with it!  This year, after a lot of Internet ideas, we decided on "The Three Little Pigs".  But we couldn't stop there! This was our opportunity to do a "parent project" involving sticks, wood slats, hay and red foam!  To go along with the story Joe and I decorated their choo choo wagon to match the houses in the book of The Three Little Pigs (straw, wood, bricks).  We began working on it the week before Halloween in the garage after putting the babies down each night.  The challenge was actually quite fun and I have to say, based on the results, Joe and I make a pretty good team!

Though we were "blessed" with a snow storm of 12 inches on Saturday along with a power outage for 9 hours the snow melted enough to continue on with the trick-or-treating festivities!  I am so proud of our three munchkins, not once did they fuss while we pulled them around our neighborhood, showing them off!  They couldn't quite understand how to take a piece of candy from the bowl when offered.  Instead they would put a piece of their candy from their bags back into the bowl! I guess you could say we've got some unselfish kids! Haha!

Gavin's house of bricks!

Ava's house of sticks!

Brayden's house of straw!

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?!

Of course, a family picture!

Indecisive about which piece to choose!
We had so much fun and are already planning our theme for next year!  We get to dress them up one more time this year and show them off at the Annual Cold Spring Parade, which got postponed until next weekend due to this snow!
