15 Months Already!!!

I mean really?! Weren't we just celebrating Gavin, Ava and Brayden's first birthday! This is going by entirely too fast for me.  I'm truly making it my goal to slow things down a bit and really enjoy every minute that I get with our three little ones.  Before I know it I'll be putting them on the bus for Kindergarten!  I don't have any stats just yet because their 15 month checkup isn't until September but here's a little rundown on how things are going:
Gavin:
Attempting to run but his little feet don't quite move as fast as his little brain would like for them to so there's a lot of bumps and bruises!  He finally has four teeth (2 on the top, 2 on the bottom).  He's still just saying "Mama" and "Dada" with a lot of grunts and whines in between.  Gavin is definitely our little whining child but I do think most of it is due to his teeth coming in.  He LOVES his Daddy and cannot get enough of him!  Every time Joe comes home from work Gavin is the first to welcome him with open arms and wants to be in held by his Daddy all day.
How's this for a welcome home from work?!
Gavin loves to bend his body in crazy ways in order to fit inside of boxes, bins, bowls, buckets...you name it!  And if he can't do it right away successfully then he gets mad and will yell at the object and bite it!  Hmmm..where did he get that temper from (like father, like son)!

He'll eat pretty much anything; though he'll try and get away with spitting food out because he'd rather be playing and causing trouble!
Just got caught emptying the wipes case!
Ava:
Still waddling around everywhere and lately she's discovered how to walk on her tippy toes.  I guess she'll have some killer calf muscles!  She's been in a horrible biting stage (with all 6 of her teeth).  Originally it was out of retaliation but now it's just to be naughty.  She'll especially do it if one of the boys' is sitting in my lap.  She hates to share my lap with anyone so she'll go in for the bite until we discipline her!  She's learned about time out quite often these days (1 minute).  We have to hold her there and set the timer along with a conversation afterwards about biting being bad (call us crazy).  It seems to slowly be helping her...until the next phase!

She's still going through that stranger/separation anxiety stage.  It's definitely not as bad but when we're among an unknown crowd she won't let me put her down until she gets comfortable.  Ava would still prefer to sit in my lap than play with toys.  She's slowly finding things that interest her like dish towels and articles of clothing out of the laundry basket (always nice when she's running around with my underwear).  We'll definitely be enrolling Ava in some sort of tumbling class at 2 because she loves to tumble and roll on top of big pillows or their crocodile.  She is so smart when it comes to figuring things out and copying what we do.  For example, the stick that you put rings on...I showed her a couple times and she immediately was able to do it, meanwhile, the boys are throwing the rings across the room!  She uses anything as a cell phone and when you say "hello" to her she says "hi" back.

She says "Dada" and attempts to say "Mama" but uses the sound of "N's" instead.  She can also say "Dog-Dog" but not quite finishing the "g" sound.  Although, she thinks everything is a dog now including deer and turkeys that she's seen in our backyard!  Ava is definitely our pickiest and messiest eater by far!  She'll eat fruit all day long but if you stick any sort of meat in front of her the tongue sticks out and you cannot get a piece past her lips!  Joe has come up with a bribing system using fruit so I always leave her for when he gets home from work during dinnertime!

Brayden:
Brayden is still bow-legged and it is hilarious to watch as he circles the kitchen all day long.  He's built like a linebacker with a broad core and solid bones.  He has the cutest scrunchy nose smile and is always laughing.  He too loves to snuggle and have his belly rubbed.  He has a mouthful of teeth with 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom.  Though Brayden is the sweetest, most laid back child out of the three he definitely has the hardest time with listening to directions and seems to think that the word "no" does not apply to him!  He'll watch you as he does something he's not supposed to just to see what kind of reaction he'll get out of you.  And then flash you that cheesy smile with all those teeth!  He loves to carry around balls and play with trucks and cars.  And recently really likes books (though he tears apart the paper ones).
Nice wide stance...looks like an athlete to me!

Brayden is definitely the peace maker and does not like confrontation.  He'll give up a toy in a heartbeat if one of the others wants it just to avoid a fight.  Recently he's discovered how to grind his teeth! Even when he's eating...wonder who he gets that from (his Mommy who has to wear a night guard)!  He'll eat anything and he especially loves chicken!  He loves his new sippy cup and can really put down some milk!

Brayden too does a lot of grunting still but will say "Dada" and "Mama", though not often.  Most of the time it's just jibber jabber because he loves to explore sounds using his tongue!

All three have transitioned great to sippy cups and...no more bottles! WOOHOO!  They even got rid of their bed time bottle so now it's just bath, pj's, story time then bed!  Gavin is wearing 12-15 months in clothes and Brayden and Ava are wearing 18-24 months.  They're still getting two naps a day (8:30-10 and 1-3).  We've tried to get rid of their morning nap but they do not want to give it up just yet.

Some new foods we've been trying:
white fish
tuna
marinated chicken
blueberry pancakes
mango
clams casino (loved them)
lentils
pudding

With the exception of Ava and meat, for the most part they except new foods pretty well.  I'll be sure to post their stats when we go to the doctor.  Until then...we're enjoying our last week of summer...
