No, I haven't forgotten about the blog...just still adjusting to life with four children! It's pretty chaotic around here with three 2-year-olds and a newborn but we're slowly getting used to it and finding a rhythm! People ask me how it is with Emma in the picture and I have to say it's not too bad! I don't know if it seems easy because it's just one this time or if she's just a really easy going baby! She really only fusses when she's hungry (and then you'll definitely hear her) and she's been pulling on average 5 hour stretches between feedings. At night we've been seeing some 6 hour stretches!
We had her two week appointment last week and she had already gained a pound weighing in at 8lb 8oz...I think it's all in her cheeks! She's already establishing a little personality including one in which she DOES NOT like to be messed with...for example diaper changes and getting buckled into her car seat. She is so content all the time that we tend to "forget" she's even there. The kids are doing great with her. Their favorite time of the day is at night before bed when they get to kiss the top of her head goodnight. They've had runny noses lately so we haven't been letting them get too close to her but they're getting better. Ava loves to walk around the house while holding her "babies" and rocks and talks to them. It amazes me how they pick up on our actions so quickly.
In other news...we're going to add a day onto the kids school so they'll be going three mornings a week. With the cold weather quickly approaching and the lack of indoor facilities around here for them to be able to go to and burn that two-year-old energy, we thought it would be best to at least give them that time to interact in the mornings one more day a week.
Here are a few random photo ops that I've captured lately:

Congratulations, Gayla & Joe! I don't have kids so you'll have to forgive my ignorance on one point: When you mentioned strapping Emma into her car seat, I had a sudden, "Oh gosh, how do they fit 4 car seats into one car?!" moment. Are you across two rows now, or...? Inquiring minds want to know. Cheers, Kate
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate...right now we have two of the toddlers and Emma in the middle in the second row and then Gavin in the far back third row... which makes it very tight and doesn't leave a lot of room for traveling. But that will all change in about a week when we get our new car...a Suburban!!! Super excited!
ReplyDeleteAdorable. Congratulations to you guys!!
