This is How We Roll!

Call us crazy but we ventured out of our comfort zone and went on a 4-day vacation to Myrtle Beach with just Joe, me and the babies!  Yes, it was a lot of work but very enjoyable!  Since Joe is an instructor at a college right now we get to have a spring break like back in our college days.  Before babies when we had a little more money Joe and I signed on with a vacation club called Festiva in which we pay a monthly "mortgage" towards their resorts and get an allotted amount of points yearly.  We then use those points towards various resorts for vacations.  Since we have been "blessed" with so much snow and cold weather up here in Alaska...I mean New York, we wanted to go anywhere south!  So we decided on Myrtle Beach, SC.  After packing up half of our house (it took me a week to pack) we left on Saturday and drove down to Virginia Beach to drop the dogs off with my parents and then began our journey to MB Sunday.

Ready for our trip minus the strollers and pack 'n plays!
The babies did so well in the car...they even discovered a new game that entertained them most of the time.  Whenever I would look in the back to check on them Gavin would have a missing sock (or two), bib or blanket.  While searching I would find it in Ava's mouth or underneath the carseats.  I began spying on them to figure out how it was happening.  They kept passing toys, socks, bibs etc back and forth to eachother.  They thought it was hilarious and let out a lot of giggles!

On our way we stopped in on our old stomping grounds, Fayetteville, NC.  Our friends Josh, Missy and Chloe are still stationed there and their daughter is only 3 months older than our children so we thought it would be fun to have a little playdate.  Chloe, who just turned 1, is walking already so it was so entertaining to watch her, knowing we would be there soon with 3!  She also was faced with having to share with our 3, when Ava became interested in her sippy cup.  Chloe did great dealing with the "invaders"!

Our resort hotel room was perfect for all of our stuff.  It had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room and dining room.  We were a little nervous as to how the babies schedule would work while on vacation but they did great! We would wake up at our usual time (7am), feed breakfast to the babies, have some playtime and get them dressed.  They would go down for their usual morning nap from 8:30-10 while Joe and I got ready and had some breakfast.  At 10 they would get a bottle and then we would load up and venture out for the day.  Because of where our resort was we had to drive to the attractions, which was a good thing because it gave them time to nap in the car.

Setting up 3 days of baby food!

Happy girl!

The three afternoons that we were there we visited Alligator Adventure, the Aquarium and Barefoot Landing.  The alligators were by far my favorite!  We also got to meet up with a friend of mine from the Army when we were at Ft. Bragg.  Tara was the wife that taught me everything I needed to know about being an Army wife!  She has a precious son Eli that we got to see when we all met up for pizza for dinner.  Tara lives an amazing life in Myrtle Beach with Eli and her fiance where she even gets to ride her bike to work every day! How jealous am I!

Of course going out to dinner was quite the chore and eventful with everyone coming over to ask us about "the triplets".  The first task at hand was trying to find 3 highchairs that weren't broken and before putting the babies in them, wiping them down with sanitizing wipes.  Some of those things were disgusting!  Then we would put these great placemats down (thanks to the Krammers for recommending them) that stuck to the table.  Not only did they keep their attention with the pictures and helped against germs on the tables but it was so much easier to clean up when it was time to go!  While Joe and I ordered we gave them "Mum Mum's" to chew on (again thanks to the Krammers).  Once Joe and I ordered we would then feed the babies their lunch or dinner (thanks to Sprouts food in pouches).  While we ate the game began of throwing toys down on the floor!  We'll definitely be researching some toys that go on highchairs for entertainment!  Suggestions welcomed!

Lovin' those Mum Mum's

After we left on Thursday to head back to Virginia Beach we decided to stay at the beach until Saturday so the babies could have a day in between the long drive.  We were able to grill out with our friends Rick and Megan (and some of Rick's highschool friends) on Friday night while Mom and Dady babysat!

Megan has the touch!
The adventure began on our way back up north from 78 degrees and flip flops to 45 degrees and snow boots! We stopped once to let the dogs out and feed the babies!

Pit stop to feed all "the babies"

Lunch and diaper changes!
We'll be doing the trip down to Virginia Beach again in April for the Wesleyan field hockey alumni game!  It should get easier each time hopefully!
