It's been a while since I did a "focus post". So this one is all about Gavin! Gavin was "Baby A" and was the middle one for weight at 4 lb 2 oz. When he was first born he was immediately on room air and didn't need any help with breathing. Definitely was our strongest baby out of the three. But he was also the laziest and most relaxed! That's what delayed him in coming home because he would continuously fall asleep at the bottle and wouldn't finish it. So they wouldn't let him come home until after Ava which kept him in the NICU for 3 weeks. He was still the most relaxed baby when they were all finally home and began sleeping through the night around 3 months of age.
We thought "he is going to be our easy baby that we can rely on to be laid back all the time"...oh did he have us fooled! At around 4 months of age we started to see a different side of Gavin. A side that resembled his daddy...his temper! If any of you have sat in on a Yankees, Giants, Rangers, actually any sports game on TV with Joe you know what temper I'm talking about! You would think that he was one of the players that just lost (or won) the game. Gavin began to apply this "emotion" when he was hungry or was being held (he hates to be restricted). Arms would fly, his body would squirm and yelling would be heard by all! Since then the temper has turned into energy that allows him to crawl EVERYWHERE! That's right HE'S CRAWLING! You can watch a video of him crawling in an earlier post. And do not try to stop him because he WILL win! The biggest challenge right now is trying to get a diaper on him! That 6 oz helmet isn't stopping him. Out of the three children, Gavin was the perfect one to get the helmet as he throws himself around on the floor, bumping his head on EVERYTHING!
He beats up on his brother already!
He was too quick for the camera and scooted out of his boppy pillow!
Now it's time to relax ON TOP of Brayden!
He tends to use his helmet against his siblings!
He loves to jump around in the exersaucer, walk around in his walker and recently (though he won't take a paci if you give it to him) crawls over to his sister and steals her paci so he can play with it! Of course he enjoys playing with anything that's NOT considered a baby toy! As soon as you put anything down on the floor, such as a tube of butt paste, he'll army crawl as fast as he can over to it so he can pick it up and put it straight into his mouth. Yesterday I came home from the gym and Joe couldn't figure out how to get the TV back to normal because Gavin had gotten his little fingers on the remote and stretched the picture! He also LOVES his toes! Any opportunity he has to put his toes in his mouth he does!
Steeling Ava's paci!
Recently he's learned how to give kisses (though it normally ends up in him sucking on your face)! And he "strikes a pose" randomly when he's crawling and flashes you that little smile!
We definitely know that Gavin will be our "terror" and will probably be hearing the word "NO" quite often! It's amazing to see how different each one of our children's personalities are! Next spotlight blog will be on Brayden!
